Recently, the Chinese State Intellectual Property Office（SIPO） and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) jointly decided that the China-Germany Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot will be extended from January 23, 2018, onwards for another three years. By the end of January 22, 2021, the requests for PPH submitted to the two bureaux of the relevant requirements and procedures remain unchanged.

According to the joint statement of the China State Intellectual Property Office and the DPMA on the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH), the PPH trial was launched on January 23, 2012, for two years. The PPH trial was extended two times on January 23, 2014, and January 23, 2016, respectively with the expiring date of January 22, 2018.
