In September 2025, the MARQUES Annual Meeting was held in The Hague, Netherlands, with brand owners, legal practitioners, corporate counsel, and IP experts around the world gathered together to talk about IP protection and related matters. Chang Tsi & Partners, represented by Marketing Director Ron Tsi, Partner Ason Zhang and Counsel Matt Hou, actively engaged in discussions with international peers, addressing the latest challenges and opportunities.

Over the years, Chang Tsi’s legal team has built a strong reputation for helping multinational corporations secure, protect, and enforce their IP rights both in China and abroad. Through long-standing collaboration with international organizations such as MARQUES and overseas law firms, Chang Tsi has developed comprehensive global strategies in trademark, patent, design, copyright and unfair competition, ensuring consistent brand protection for global clients across key markets.

Given the current global market environment, the recognition of IP protection as a strategic business imperative has never been more evident. Breakthroughs in AI, biotechnology, and renewable energy are reshaping industries, cross-border disputes, malicious filings, and online infringement require firms to combine international perspectives with local expertise. MARQUES play a critical role in uniting the international IP community, fostering dialogue on these emerging challenges, and promoting collaboration across jurisdictions.

During the four-day conference, IP professionals from Chang Tsi & Partners shared insights on bad-faith trademark filings, cross-border enforcement, brand protection strategies, and IP risks in AI-generated content. The delegation also shared recent Chinese case experiences, offering insights into how China’s judiciary and administrative authorities are adapting to new business models. Through exchanges with peers from Europe, North America and Asia, the firm forged closer ties with the global IP community.
