The 2026 China IP & Innovation Summit was held in Shenzhen on August 20–21, bringing together government authorities, corporate IP leaders, legal professionals and other industry experts to discuss key issues shaping intellectual property protection and innovation. On December 13, 2023, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and the Innovation, Technology, and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR (ITIBHK) jointly announced the Implementation Guidelines for the Standard Contract for Cross-Border Flow of Personal Information within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This guideline is a follow-up to the June Memorandum of Cooperation and aims to streamline and clarify regulations for cross-border personal data flow.
