The 2026 China IP & Innovation Summit was held in Shenzhen on August 20–21, bringing together government authorities, corporate IP leaders, legal professionals and other industry experts to discuss key issues shaping intellectual property protection and innovation. Beginning on December 3, 2022, trademark applicants will have three months (with a possible three-month extension), instead of the current six months, to respond to office actions issued during the examination of a trademark application at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This change only applies to office actions issued on or after December 3.
