Official fees are charged per class. Each class covers a limited number of goods or services (10 items), with additional charges applying beyond that threshold. Later-stage procedures — such as review of refusal, opposition response, renewal, changes, and assignment — are subject to their own official fee schedules. Official fees follow CNIPA's current rate schedule, and certain applicants may qualify for fee reductions.
Professional fees vary with the complexity of the case. These typically cover the search, preparation and filing of the application, status monitoring, forwarding of official notices, and collection of the registration certificate. Contentious proceedings — review of refusal, opposition and invalidation — are billed separately. Clients with ongoing portfolios can arrange tiered packages or annual rates.
