On November 19, 2025, Tracy Shen, Senior Partner at Chang Tsi & Partners, delivered a professional training session at the China Intellectual Property Training Centre. The program focused on practical approaches to overseas IP infringement litigation, providing systematic guidance on case assessment, risk control, evidence preparation, and cross-border coordination.

Ms. Shen introduced the current trends in overseas IP risks, highlighting the increasing number of trademark squatting incidents and the difficulties posed by differing enforcement systems across jurisdictions. Through real case studies—including the Luckin Coffee Thailand case and a successful multi-jurisdiction coexistence negotiation—she demonstrated effective methods for resolving cross-border disputes without excessive cost or prolonged litigation.

The training also emphasized proactive IP planning, advising companies to secure timely trademark filings and prepare clear evidence packages before entering new markets. For high-risk scenarios, Ms. Shen outlined a structured response framework, underscoring the importance of collaboration between internal legal teams, local counsel, and technical experts.
