Recently, Chang Tsi & Partners hosted a specialized seminar on the practice of Chinese intellectual property law for students from Drew University. The session was delivered by Market Director Ron Tsi and Management Committee Member & Partner Tracy Shen, aiming to enhance international students’ understanding of China’s IP legal system, its development, and the evolving environment for innovation protection.

During the lecture, Ron Tsi introduced the evolution of China’s intellectual property protection framework and its growing importance in today’s global innovation-driven economy. He focused on corporate IP strategy, brand protection, patent and trademark management, and cross-border IP risk prevention, helping students understand how intellectual property functions as a core component of enterprise competitiveness.

Tracy Shen drew on her extensive practical experience in IP litigation and enforcement, presenting representative cases to illustrate how China’s IP laws are applied in judicial protection and administrative enforcement. She also shared insights into trademark enforcement, IP litigation practices, and cross-border dispute resolution, offering students a clearer view of current legal developments in China’s IP practice.

The session concluded with an active discussion on international IP protection, market access in China, and the safeguarding of innovative achievements, fostering constructive dialogue and deeper mutual understanding between Chinese practitioners and international students.
