Notably, he has secured favorable outcomes in a great number of trademark administrative and civil litigation cases at home and abroad, assisting clients in achieving key objectives including well-known trademark recognition and the recovery of maliciously registered trademarks. Trademark Cancellations & Invalidations (China)

  • Represented JD.com in a series of invalidation proceedings against Alibaba's registered “双十一” trademarks. Prevailed at first instance and on appeal, resulting in invalidation of 18 registrations. The decision significantly reshaped practices in China's e-commerce sector and received widespread coverage by CCTV and other national media.
  • Represented Kuaishou Technology (Kwai) in the KWAI BOO trademark invalidation proceeding. Won at all levels; the case was selected by the Beijing Trademark Association as one of the Top Ten Non-Litigation Trademark Cases of 2022.
  • Represented TAL Education in the invalidation of the “学而尚” mark, securing reversal on appeal. The Beijing IP Court recognized “学而思”  as a well-known mark for the first time in individual case proceedings.
  • Represented MerX (美克·美家) in the invalidation of the “美克·华菲” mark—which had been registered for over ten years—and secured reversal on appeal. “美克·美家” was recognized as a well-known mark for the first time in an individual proceeding.
  • Represented JD.com in the invalidation of the “Jing Dong Hua” mark; prevailed at first instance and on appeal, disrupting the infringer’s rights.
  • Represented JD.com in administrative litigation arising from the revocation of the “京拼拼” mark, successfully defeating a bad-faith copycat registration.
  • Represented Wuxi Little Swan Co. in multiple invalidation and revocation proceedings against bad-faith “Little Swan” registrations in Class 11; the Little Swan mark was recognized as well-known across several cases.
  • Represented Junlebao Dairy in the invalidation of a bad-faith “悦鲜活” registration in Class 3; prevailed at first instance and on appeal.
  • Represented China Resources in a revocation proceeding; prevailed at first instance, successfully removing a competing mark in the same industry.

Prosecution & Office Action Responses (China)

  • Represented China Telecom in the appeal of a refused application for “China Telecom 5G,” developing an innovative evidentiary framework to overcome a Section 10 misleading-consumers refusal. The approach was cited in the CNIPA’s official Q&A guidance on trademark appeal evidence, influencing examination practice nationwide.
  • Represented Great Wall Motor in administrative litigation over the refusal of the “Salon” trademark application; prevailed at first instance and on appeal, overcoming a distinctiveness refusal under the absolute grounds.

International & Cross-Border Matters

  • Represented a top EV Manufacturer in a trademark invalidation in Morocco, successfully canceling a bad-faith registration using copyright as the basis for the claim, clearing the path for market entry.
  • Represented a major Chinese automobile manufacturer in trademark opposition proceedings in the United Kingdom; negotiated coexistence agreements with two European companies over a two-year period, securing registration of a key model name.
  • Led the team representing Hunan China Tobacco in Indonesia, obtaining recognition of the "芙蓉王" mark as well-known and securing invalidation of a squatted registration.
  • Led the team representing XCMG Group in a multi-stage invalidation proceeding in Turkey against a mark that had been registered for over ten years; ultimately prevailed before the Turkish Court of Cassation.
  • Led the team representing JD.com in Thai administrative litigation and before the Thai Supreme Court, overcoming a distinctiveness refusal and changing local examination practice.
  • Led the team representing a Chinese petrochemical company in Pakistan, winning more than 100 trademark opposition and invalidation proceedings and coordinating police raids and civil litigation to dismantle an organized infringement operation.
  • Represented a Chinese tool manufacturer in resolving adverse trademark proceedings in India and Bolivia, protecting the client's market position despite the absence of prior registered rights.
  • Represented a major Chinese financial institution in EU trademark invalidity proceedings brought by a local competitor; successfully negotiated a coexistence agreement, preserving the client's core EU trademark registrations and ensuring continuity of operations.
